Risk of Rain 2 characters unlock means how the survivor list opens after the first drop. Official copy only promises you can unlock ten playable survivors. It does not print a quest for each one. Named roles appear in the source; "beat this boss, turn in this item" steps stay unverified. Unlock-all cheats are not documented here.
Who we can confirm exists
Base marketing names Commando, Huntress, Engineer, Captain, and MUL-T. Captain and MUL-T are called brand-new relative to the classic trio, which implies they are not all free at spawn. How you unlock them is not written.
Seeker, False Son, and Chef are Seekers of the Storm survivors, so owning that expansion is the prerequisite the diary implies. Operator and Drifter are Alloyed Collective, shipped 18 Nov 2025. Hallowed Concepts teases two unnamed survivors and is unreleased.
Artificer's log, in a lore video, places her time-paused in the Bazaar until a survivor frees her. Whether that equals the in-game unlock stays unverified.
Drifter and other "new character" searches
Raw keywords include how to unlock Drifter, unlock Void Fiend, and new characters. The source only confirms Drifter as one of two Alloyed Collective survivors. Void Fiend is keyword-only. "New characters" in 2026 also includes the two unnamed Hallowed Concepts survivors. Do not paste an old DLC checklist onto that search.
Skins are not the same track. Hallowed Concepts plans skins for existing survivors, including possible Mastery skins. Conditions are unwritten. Heresy assembly is an item line, not a "survivor N" checklist unless a later log says so.
